About John Koehler

John Koehler joined the Food Bank in October 2002 as Controller and was promoted to Chief Financial Officer in April 2003.  His background includes extensive financial experience in in both the public and private sectors.

Previously, Koehler served as CFO for eight years for the Connie Post Companies, a closely held group of companies in the furniture store design/manufacturing business located in Barboursville, WV. Prior to that, his experience included 20 years with Mohasco Corporation, a Fortune 500 Company in the home furnishings industry located in Fair Lakes, VA.  At Mohasco, Koehler served as Manager of Corporate Budgets, Forecasts and Financial Analysis for 15 years and Senior Internal Auditor for five years.  His previous experience included four years with the public accounting firm of T. M. Byxbee Company, CPA’s, with offices located in Schenectady, NY, New York City and Hamden, CT.

Koehler graduated from Siena College in Loudonville, NY with a BBA degree, majoring in Accounting. He obtained his CPA license from New York State in 1989 and the Commonwealth of Virginia in 2004. He is a member of the Virginia Society of CPA’s. He resides in Harrisonburg with his wife, Madeline.
