Donna

Donna and her husband, both in their 80’s, were enjoying retirement and getting by comfortably on their limited income – until medical issues brought both health and financial challenges their way. “My husband had a heart attack and I needed surgery. We have a lot more medical bills than we ever expected,” said Donna. “We live on a limited income. We didn’t have enough money to pay the bills and buy food.”
Independent people, used to taking care of themselves, Donna and her husband tried to get by on their own by purchasing less and stretching their budget as far as they could. “But our budget ran out and we ended up living for three days without any food at all,” Donna recalled.
That’s when a friend introduced the couple to Lakeland Food Pantry, in Minoqua.
“We’re finally eating better and feeling better! God is with the people who help make this pantry possible.”
