Hunger in Northeast Wisconsin
Hunger does not discriminate; it knows no age, race or sex. People facing hunger have homes, jobs and families. It is not a problem confined to urban areas. In fact, hunger in rural areas is generally higher than urban regions despite the fact that many of our neighbors who are facing hunger live in the very farm communities that provide wholesome food for the rest of the state. They could be your neighbor, the boy on your child’s soccer team, the veteran marching in the local parade, or the woman who sits next to you in church.
Our Fox Valley Food Bank
Opened November 1, 2015, the 40,000+ square-foot food bank located off Interstate 41, in the heart of the Fox Valley, was designed to better serve our members and to ensure everyone facing hunger in northeast Wisconsin has access to healthy, nutritious food. We work with more than 200 member food pantries, shelters and meal programs throughout 27 counties in northeast Wisconsin.
The food bank’s expansive cooler and freezer space and environmentally controlled͞ clean room ensure we are providing only the freshest, safest products to our member. Our meeting space and demonstration kitchen provide warm and inviting spaces for community groups to come together in collaboration.
